A client named Wes brought up his tricked-out 2007 Chevy 2500HD to us all the way from Spirit Lake, IA. He made the 200-mile round-trip journey so we could show his truck some much-needed love. The existing radio was in serious need of replacing after a little “oops.” We chose to go all out by installing the 9″ Alpine X009-GM2 Perfect Fit radio. The X-009-GM2 is the ultimate solution for the 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierras.
The 9″ screen in the dash opens up a whole new world. We were able to retain the steering wheel controls and the screen can be customized to show a variety of vehicle information such as Tire Pressure Monitor System readings or Fuel, Tach, Speed and other meters. Adding a SiriusXM tuner and a rear view camera made the in-dash unit complete.
The X009 is a full-featured unit including navigation, hands-free and streaming Bluetooth, USB connections, 9-band parametric EQ, time alignment, internal crossovers, HD radio, Pandora control and more. Downloading the Alpine Tune-It app allows him to connect to the radio via his smartphone for the ultimate in tuning and control of his radio.
In addition to the new radio, we replaced the front and rear speakers with Memphis Power Reference Series speakers for better sound all around.
