Nicholas brought in his 2014 Chevy Silverado with the factory MyLink system, looking for a backup camera solution. As with any full-size vehicle, it is nearly impossible to see right behind your Silverado. A number backup camera options are available and some are better than others. For this truck, Nicholas wanted a clean, non-intrusive installation, so we chose a backup camera that is integrated into the tailgate handle. This gives a great view for both backing up and hooking up a trailer.
As you can see in the photos, we integrated the camera with the factory MyLink screen in the dash. Any time the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the monitor on the dash will automatically switch to backup camera mode. Since this solution is thoroughly integrated with the vehicle, the backup lines visible on the monitor will swing around while you’re turning the wheel to give you a better idea of whether any objects may be in your path while backing up.
