If you own a diesel-powered vehicle, you may have been told that a remote starter won’t work on your engine. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The remote starter experts at Sweet Sounds in Mankato have been installing diesel remote starters longer than anyone in the area. Our staff are factory-trained by Compustar on the proper methods to safely start your diesel-powered vehicle.
A Look Into Diesel Remote Starters
Here is how a typical conversation goes in our store:
“If you had the choice in the middle of winter, would you like to leave your truck running all the time when out running errands for hours and not have to leave a key in it?”
“Yes!”
“I thought so – most other people prefer that. That’s where the options on our PRO T-13 really set it apart from the rest of the crowd, by using its run-time extension feature and stop’n go’features. So, you can go to Menards, put the truck in park, reengage the remote start (without cranking the vehicle, of course!), hop out of the vehicle, lock the door – and the truck keeps running … for 45 minutes! Then, as the timer nears that 45-minute limit, the remote control in your pocket will beep at you, at which time you can restart the timer at 45 minutes again, and do this over and over if you wish.
“You finish your two hours of shopping and go back out to your truck, hit the unlock button while it’s still running, hop in, insert and turn the key, and drive away. All in all, you just spent two hours away from your vehicle and never had to shut down the vehicle. With the other brands, you would have shut it down and started it up to 10 times during that same timeframe.”
This sure makes it easy to choose a Sweet Sounds remote starter.
Diesel Remote Starters For Trucks AND Cars
Not only can we start your diesel-powered truck, we can also do cars and SUVs, with the Jetta and Passat being very popular vehicles for us.
Variable Run-Time
On most diesel vehicles, we set the remote start run-time at the maximum of 45 minutes. Of course, if you don’t want it to run that long, we can choose a shorter time or you can turn off the remote start via the remote control. A turbo-timer feature can also be integrated to help cool down your turbo.

Thanks for sharing. I really like that you can put a remote starter on a diesel. I just put a new banks turbo set up on my F-350. It is a great truck, and now it can really get up and go. I like that you can install a turbo timer with a remote start. I will have to look into getting a setup myself.
